I have eggs for these in the incu at the moment...there are 2 clutches, one about 2-3 weeks old and another only a few days, so there is still a long wait Sad.

Charlton Reps (they are online, try Google) had babies when we were there a few weeks ago - perhaps they are worth a try. They are listed under their "new" name on the site, which is Timon lepidus (not sure when this re-classification happened, but most places still refer to them as Lacerta lepida).

Trese, they also have a male there... I think I told Dean, so perhaps you guys have already checked it out.

'Ere, why am I now a Forum Granny???

We had some in the my shop (Charlton Reptiles, all C/B by me) the last time I checked. But I am not in the UK at the moment, so please give them a call to check. Tel 020 8856 1066.

I have kept and bred this species for many years. So am willing to answer any questions any of you have. I do not keep them any more, as I cannot keep them legally in Portugal which is where I am most of the time.

Yes the name was changed many years ago to Timon lepidus. I now keep Timon pater and Timon tangitanus instead of the lepidus. I bred many pater last year and should have spare young later this year. I think I will be the first to offer them for sale in the UK for over 20 years. All three species are stunning and make great pets.

have a look at this

http://www.agamainternational.com/pages/jeweled_lacertas.html

Bert Langerwerf, the man that wrote this, in my opinion is the best lizard breeder in the world. He has been breeding them for around 35-40 years I believe.

Forgot to say that if you don't already know (Johelian) eggs take around 3 months to hatch.

Also that aggressive/wild behaviour in lacertid and other lizards is due to the much higher levels of UV light outdoors, or more natural lighting generally I think. Even my bearded dragons kept outdoors will bite me given the chance ! Bring them indoors and after a day or so they are calm again. Outdoors for a day and they are monsters again !
