Me and a mate are thinking about going to Hamm. I am 17 and she is 18.

Anyway here are my questions, we are thinking about going by coachtotheshow.com

How long does it take to get there?
Is it busy?
How much is stuff their compared to normal prices?
Should i put my name down for buying stuff before i go?
For the 13th sept show, what day do we leave and what day do we get back?

thats it for now. If you have any info, which you think i may need to know please say

cheers

This depends on what you are looking for. Corns and cheap things like that are no cheaper than buying from UK breeders but if you are looking for retics and royal morphs then Bob clark has some of the cheaper stuff but also one of the best names in the business.

Yep Very. So much so u wont believe. And because its busy its very hot and you will sweat like a pig.

Again depends on what you want.

Generally leave friday afternoon and return sunday morning.

If you are going then take a poly box and heat pads with you. and make sure you know the latin name of anything you might be looking for.

Apparently we do not need to take heaterpads because the coachs storage part is heated. May take a box of some kind though, put my name on it, so all my stuff is in one place.

and cheers, i know most latin names though.

Just need to decide how much money to take.

Anyone know of any gecko breeders who are going?

I must admit i wasnt looking for most of those so ive no idea how many were there but you will get male cresties cheaper in England than you will at hamm. There will also probably be a better choice over here over the next few months than there will be at hamm in one day.

Depends where your nearest coach is leaving from. I think you will need to look at the coach to the show website to find out.

Heat pads cost a couple of quid so youd be better off taking some anyway. Put a thermometer in the box on the way there and see what the temps are when you get there, that way you will know for sure whether you need a heat pads or not. Its worth £5 to ensure the health of your animals

As far as im aware you will have to take a box to put your stuff in. You dont want a nice animal just stuffed in a cricket box rolling around underneath a coach. And id suggest a poly box as it will help keep temperatures more consistant

ok, well just the others then. I will be looking to purchase 1.1 AFTs, 1.1 Pictus Geckos, and 1.1 Nephrurus sp. and possibly another N species, if i have enough. I would happy to come back with just 2 Nephrurus species though lol

Just need to decide how much money to take.

oh another question.

when you get there are you given a plan to show where everyones stalls are? or do you just wonder around aimlessly and hope you find what you want? because there is only 4 species i want to buy.

I think i remember getting a show guide, made no sense to me at all -)
If you are after specific geckos, i would strongly advise scouring the euro classified sites asap.
A lot of the more unusual stuff is pre bought and collected at the show.
In 06 there were hardly any cresteds about, and maybe a dozen leachies.
Crouchy is right, you'll get a better and cheaper selection over here.
Try these sites.

One other thing, our fellow europeans seem to have a real problem
with putting prices on ads, so you'll most likely have to email them to get one.

bad news, i contacting my boss today about asking for the day off work to go, and he said he would prefer it if i didn't because he is short staffed that day. So i cannot go in September. I will be at the following one though, which i believe is in march 09 (please correct me if i am wrong).

but it will mean that i have longer to gather money together for when i go. And if its in march it is right after my birthday so i will have a larger hamm fund Smile
