Hi, my viv is finished and I'm after a mesh guard for the ceramic bulb.
i see they are quite expensive, does anyone make there own from a type of mesh ? is so, what material do you use,

no price is too expensive to protect my lizards from burning themselves. I've just got 2 from my local reptile shop for under £30 in total

i do understand this but there's no harm in creating your own safety equipment if its possible and is as efficient as the shop products.

True, but theres nothing like making your own and saving few pennys if you can. Ive never made one but iam sure its not that hard. I'd say give it ago if doesn't turn out how you want it at least you know for next time.

I guess, I didn't want the hassle, and i needed to finish the new viv so the lizards can move into there new home

I personally believe what Jaffa says but i see your point on getting the viv ready for your reps with less hassle. i haven't bought my boa yet so i have a bit more time to spend on creating the perfect home so i don't mind the diy lol
