My corn snake escaped a good six months ago, he was just found in the neighbours garden! He's very thin and very weak and cold, and he has what looks like a burn on him. Put him in a box with a heat mat and water, will get hold of some food for him tomorrow. Is there anything else I should be doing for him? I hope he survives. But I am gobsmacked that he's shown up! _________________ 1 male caramel corn snake, Loki

He is very lucky to make it through one of our winters.
Fingers crossed he will be okay for you. _________________ Cheers Angi

He's amazingly bright actually! The burn looks recent but fairly well healed, and he seems quite interested in whats going on. Not moving around much, and I'm trying to leave him be as much as possible to let him destress. Got some avipro for him yesterday, thanks for the tip on that. Should I be contacting the vet to get him looked over, or should I leave him to settle for a while first.
Thanks to the well wishes, I am overjoyed that he is OK The neighbours were a tad disconcerted though! _________________ 1 male caramel corn snake, Loki

i would get him checked over in case of an ri or something. but give him a couple of days. the vet will advise you when to feed too, but i would start with a small meal first, a pinky or something like that, i dont know what size he is though. if he is bigger maybe a fuzzy. the vet might give him some antibiotics for the burn, and he may treat him for parasites in case he picked some up on his adventure.
am so pleased for you and him that you found him. _________________

Just an update...he is fine! Had him at the vet last week, who said apart from being too skinny he is in perfect health. Still need to get a fecal sample, but all looks good. _________________ 1 male caramel corn snake, Loki
