the latin name is spelt with Ph not F
just thought i would tell you.
They are very delicate and require it cool, not a beginners gecko.

Satanics are one of the most delicate uroplatus ssp.
If you want to start with them, I would suggest looking into guentheri. The are (or so I'm told) the hardiest of all.
With all uroplatus its important to kep them cool (max 25 celcius I would say, no experience though) and spray them every night...preferably 2 or 3 times a day.
Handling doesn't seem like an option to me. Very delicate animals that like to sleep during the day and that rely heavily on their camouflage _________________ *steps are the only obstacle on the ladder to succes...*

Thanks for the replies guys
I had good look through the Barrons book about geckos and they said they dont like temps any higher than 70 degrees farenheit. My bedroom is WAY too hot for them. My bedroom temp is around 75 at least during the day. Id almost certainly kill em. Thanks for replying anyway people, i appreciate it.
They do look awesome and i like the henkells too
Getting a velvet gecko soon btw Oeodura Monilis

I used to have a colony of nine Phantasticus, I kept them in a 36 x 24 x 24 glass Viv with a fully meshed top. I kept mine at around 76 degrees and I did OK with them, kept missing the eggs though as it was a naturalistic set-up. I rarely saw them but I knew they were there and happy lol. I had mine for around 3 - 4 years but they only have a very short lifespan, around 4 years in captivity seems average - in the Uroplatus book it states 3 - 5 years I believe (I haven't got the book in front of me lol I may be a year or two out). I certainly wouldn't say they were easy as in summer it was a constant panic about temperature control - they die very easily in too warm temperatures - I ran up a massive electric bill on fans to keep them cool lol.
I cant believe they are now 1000 euros a pair! I only paid about 60 - 80 euros a piece for mine lol, I know the import ban to EU from Madagascar has had a massive impact on pricing but I didn't know quite how much! _________________ 20 years experience in reptile keeping.

I believe the ones at hamm were F1, and yours were probably wc
before the ban loads were imported cheaply but most did not make it long
