im interested in getting a gecko, but could do with some advice on starter kits, best types to get, and a bit of info on what there like to handle. ive heard that they are a good 'starter' lizard??

any help appreciated Smile

Hi not sure on vivs sizes to much but with handling and so on from what i have read on them is that

Leos and fat tails? are good for handling as well as crested
But flying geckos are not at all because of there delecate skin .
Tokays are lovely geckos nice colouring , but i have read that they can be aggressive but i don't no any one that owns one to say other wise

do you have any suggestions as to which are the best for a beginner like myself? what is the type of set up for a gecko? heating, substrate, water, humidity, size viv etc.

you need to let us know a budget you have to spend, max size of animal, if you are happy feeding live insects?

Personally I would say that your choice should be either a Leopard Gecko
or a Crested Gecko.

Both are similar sized, both can be handled without fear of being bitten. The advantage of the crested gecko is it can be fed a non live diet (crested gecko diet, made by T-rex). Both species are nocturnal too.

Also the crested gecko is from a cooler climate, so less expensive to keep (ideal temp of 78f day 68f night). If the room you would house the gecko falls into this range, then no further heating is required.

cool cresties i well like then i would have the crestie rather than a leo no disrespect to them lol but i like gresties more Smile
