I'm not sure, I found a copy of The Vivarium Vol.6 No.6 and this was the cover photo. It doesn't look quite right but I'd be suprised if the magazine did alter it.

I've seen it before. I think it's been altered. I can't remember where I read it (kingsnake.com I think) but apparently Cresteds can't produce a blue pigment. I don't know if that's true or not - I certainly haven't seen one in the flesh. Confused

i wouldn't say that it has been edited in photo shop , but the gecko doesn't look right , i have seen a few photos of not crested but tokay geckons in a very blue colour like this one , but the crickets in its viv were also the same colour a sort of flecks of the colour on the fake plants in the viv , iwas just wondering if not , if you can make then change colour using some type of dye may sound mad , but as a kid i use to keep birds, canairies and zebra finch's and so did my uncle but he had some made orange coloured ones none the same , and he use to put this dye in there water wich was birds and over a small course of time giving it to them they would change colour , never blue but some mint red ones and orange ones , maybe it could be some thing like that maybe

after studing these a bit more i would defently say that there is some type of dye they are feeding it , looks mad but not to sure on how healthy it is for the geckos though

I'm not against selective breeding to attain certain colours/patterns even though it's not natural it's still genetic,but feeding animals dyed food is just wrong,if you can't produce those colours through selective breeding then it should be left at that.As far as i'm concerned 'nature knows best'

I think the Tokay is just a nice highly coloured specimen. To me the crickets simply look like they have calcium on them (black crickets). Confused
