I came down this morning and found my female storri sunning herself under the basking spot half on her back with her lower half pointing upwards towards the bulb, the basking spot is kept at around 130 to 140 so it couldn't be that she was cold.

she has never done this before, normally the heating and lights come on around 0700 and they are both normally out on the stack warming up by 0830 so for her to be doing this at 1100 was strange.

my first thought was she may well be gravid as i keep her in with the male all the time and they are both now 4 years old, the person that had them before me said they had produced 1 clutch of eggs last year.

has anyone else had similar happenings with storri or even ackies.

Sounds gravid to me,when my female Storri was gravid she would lie on her side with her belly exposed,It may be worth cranking the spot up if you can to around 150.

Thanks Thomas, will crank the spot up for tomorrow, is it worth taking her away from the male now or will she be ok with him, some people have reported that storri are particularly aggressive to each other, but apart from the odd tail strike mine have been fine together.

Storrs lay their eggs throughout the year.

What I do with my groups is put a large contico tub in the viv with some small holes cut in the top and fill it with damp sand. They will dig like crazy in the tub. I would keep a close eye on her for the next few weeks, just in case she is cooking some eggs.

I would leave the temps as they are.
