Information on New Caledonia taken from 'Notes on Three Species of New Caledoian Geckos of the Genus Rhacodactylus' by Frank Fast & Philippe de Vosjoli - The Vivarium Vol.6 No.6
Temperature
The average annual temp is 23.5c (74.3f). The area of Yate (where Rhacos have been collected) varies from 19.3c (66.7f) in July (their winter) to 25.6c (78f) in February (their summer). Day / Night temperatures fluctuated by several degrees.
Preciptation
Rains are irregualr in New Caledonia but in areas from which rhacodactylus have been collected, rains of variable duration (often brief) provide some water every month. In Yate the average monthly precipitation from a high of 378mm in February to a low of 132mm in September.
Relative Humidity
74 - 84% in city/town and higher in the tropical forests. _________________
