well i read my daughters book, and double checked on google, and they say by 15 months they are sexually mature. that doesnt mean that people will breed them at that age i suppose. and i also suppose some will be mature before others and some will take longer.

this was posted by Beth. Must try to get her to get her own name. She was wondering because whenever they see each other they go into the full head bobbing, arm waving routine. really great to watch, but she thinks it is not fair on them! We are keeping them separated at the mo cos they are only 10 months old

the head bobbing and arm waving is a submissive andtop dog thing. the one doing the head bobbing wants to be the boss, and the one doing the waving is being submissive. who is doing the head bobbing?

The male. If they get together he tries to get on her back, which i presume is breeding behaviour, which is why they are separated. They also inflate their beards. Like I said, fascinating to watch, but she stops them as soon as she sees it

aye they are a wee bit young. but the waving and bobbing are to do with one wanting to be top dog and the waving is one being submissive. does he head bob at you? normally, and am going by my daughters now, there is a race to see which one gets higher up than the other. this is to do with being boss too. but hers are both female and are in same viv. can beths see each other?

you've had this problem before Lynne, treating your daughters like reptiles. What do they climb on?

Being serious, he dosnt bob at us, only the female. They cant see each other in their vivs, only when we let them out for a play. think we will keep them apart for a bit until she is bigger, better safe than sorry
