Just picked up another Royal about half an hour ago. He's got a bad reputation for striking at everything, and is not a happy chap at all. Picked him out of the viv in the shop and he didn't strike. Put him in his small viv to take home, and he was striking at everything for fun. He put on quite a show for the audience! He's very alert, and nosy, and didn't strike when we transfered him to his "home" viv. He'll be fine with a bit of TLC. Think he's just frightened...he's only about 9 months old, but quite small.
Might have to change his name though.....just noticed he's got a perfect letter "J" on his back. I'll post some pics in about a week when he's settled down a bit.

my cinny is the same freya. i think they are just misunderstood really. she is getting better all the time, although does still strike sometimes. and she prefers men to women. and she is quite headshy so i tend to work slowly around her. i dont know if your wee guy is the same, but patience and perseverance, and the knowledge that most of the time he is bluffing and is probably more scared of you, should help. once you have his trust he will be fine. good luck.

He was actually sold and returned to the shop by first time Royal owners TWICE. He's going to be absolutely fine. Just needs a bit of love and patience.
