The Reptile Zone in Bristol are having another barbecue to coincide with the opening of our 3 new rooms. We are opening a Chameleon room, a nocturnal room and a monitor room within our shop and wanted to invite everyone from the captive bred forums along for the day. The venomous room will also be open for viewing on this day, with a possability of venomous handling demonstrations( from behind a safety screen).
Food and drink is on us but we will need you to confirm numbers for us so that we can guage how much food to provide, so please phone the shop and let us know, preferably at least a week prior to the barbecue so we can get organised. Phone no 0117 9693013 or email pb@reptilecareuk.com directions can be found on our website www.reptile-zone.co.uk
Any vegetarians coming along please let me know and I will cater for you specifically - send me a pm.
So the date for your diary is 5th May, which is a bank holiday Monday. Doors open at 11am and food will be available after midday. Children and families are welcome - there is an area out the back for the kids to run around, plus sweet treats will provided for the youngsters too.
There are plenty of bed and breakfasts nearby for anyone wishing to stay over - a few people often venture to a local pub afterwards.
There will be opportunities for you to get aquainted with species you may not be familiar with as well as photograph opportunities - give me a shout.

Just wanted to say Thankyou for the invite! The nocturnal room sounds very interesting, not sure if we can make it but certainly would love to see the pics. Very Happy

We are hoping to have Varanus prasinus, Varanus macreii, possibly V melanous, Niles, white throats, mangrove monitors.
Chams should include Oustalets, Melleri, Jacksons, quadricornus, possibly gracefuls, flap neckeds, pygmys and others.
But it all depends on whether things definately arrive when they are supposed to aswell as things being sold prior to that date. But the staff will be trying their best to have a nice selection in each room.
