|
|
I was just wondering what is a healthy weight range for an adult royal
mine has stopped eating completely for about 4 months now after feeding regularly each week up until the winter.
What is the best way to weigh this snake? what are the best type of scales to buy for this as i have never had to do this before. |

Male or Female?
Females are bigger.
I use kitchen scales [digital] that go up to 2kg i think. _________________ Regards, Paul.

tesco sell digital scales, thats what i use. pop the snake in a snake sack, or weigh a container, pop the snake in weigh it again, then minus one weight from the other. _________________

kitchen scale is what i use. for a female royal the weight to breed her with starts at 1400gr but that's a minimum so preferably heavier than that. the male can breed from a weight of 650gr (give or take) _________________ 1.1 Hypo Salmon Boa (Gee Line)

Or simply put the container on the scales and then switch them on _________________ My website isn't quite there yet, as I got bored half way through writing it.

hard to say what weight it should be without knowing the length and sex. If it's been feeding with you for a good while before and then went off food I wouldn't worry too much. I've just had three start feeding again after 12 months, 8 months and 6 months _________________

That is a healthy weight for a 06 I would say.
No vet is needed, just keep offering food using different methods.
Nice snake ! _________________ Regards, Paul.
