well my rankins is bruminating atm, never seen anybody sleep as much as he does atm lol, but anyway, i take him out every 3 days 2 get as many mites off him as i can (waiting for local vets 2 get some more frontline in) also i give him a warmish bath then aswell, now hes not drank for a good few weeks and when he does drink he usually drinks loads and rarely. the problem i noticed was he seems to store it all in his throat, and if i pick him up out the bath he blows bubbles lol
dont know if hes suppose 2 do that or not lol so came onhere for help

Didnt notice this thread first time around, need to get that mite problem sorted, if your vet doesnt have anything in stock then see what your local reptile shop has in, you will also need to change the substrate and give everything a good clean. The bubbles thing doesnt sound to good, i take it you have double checked all your temps?

Sometimes one of my females blows bubbles especially if she has been splashing around in the water and got it up her nose lol.

the temps r spot on 94 at hottest point and 74-75 at coolist, also its the water he holds in his throat that he blows bubbles with, and after about an hour its all gone
the tank has been cleaned and cleaned and cleaned lol, so much so iv been thru bout 4 bags of play sand lol,

Hi

Just thought I'd mention is it safe to put a VAPONA thingy in the vivarium. I always thought that you should not use fly or Air freshner sprays in the same room as your reptiles as it is not safe. I may be wrong maybe someone else could verify this.

Also just a suggestion dont use sand in your viv till you have got rid of the mites it may be better to use paper towels, which will be much cheaper and easier to keep clean.

if i remember vapona was banned cause they cudnt rule out the link betwen it and cancer, the stuff i have isnt made by vapona but its basically the same thing, its not in there all the time just gets put in the viv in waves,
im gna 1nce again change the tank this time just putting newspaper in, a;lso 2morro hes gna have a nice long bath so he can get soaked and ill get the tweezers 2 everything i can see on his head that way he shouldnt have any left on his body, only place i find them tbh is behind his front legs, in the corners of his mouth and then in the crese where his top eyelid folds up inside his head abit, so i dont think any are spread 2 the tank yet, just think that i miss 1 or 2 tiny 1s when cleaning him off and they breed
