That's the one I use.
That is combined with gut loading the crickets and locusts on carrot, greens, cabbage, and occasionally broccoli.
cheers

I have been keeping/hatching/raising veileds for many years.
I dust the insect with a phosphorous-free calcium powder at most feedings to help make up for the poor ratio of calcium to phos. in most feeder insects.
I dust twice a month with a vitamin powder that has a beta carotene source of vitamin A. Beta carotene sources of vitamin A don't build up in the system. There is controversy as to whether all species of chameleon can convert beta carotene so some people also give them a preformed source once in a while. Preformed sources can build up in the system and excess preformed can prevent the D3 from doing its job and lead to MBD.
If the chameleon is getting no/little sunlight and gets it UVB from a UVB tube light, then you may want to dust with a phos.-free calcium/D3 powder a couple of times a month too. D3 from supplements can build up so don't overdo it. Please be aware that the UVB from either source should not pass through glass or plastic. |
