Just wanted to know how many eggs can a female produce in a year and what best time of the year to put male in with her.and do you leave male in with her all year or not.

Hi Paul,
I keep my groups set up all year. I tend to get eggs most weeks although the peak seems to be June/July, although saying that I have just pulled out 50 eggs tonight.
Females can lay up to 10 clutches a year although 5 to 6 is probably a good average.
If your females don't look in good shape at any time then removing the male will help them recover. So far I've not needed to do that at all.
best of luck,

Not too sure Paul When I set them up in the exo terra's I will re-group and have a head count. At a guess I would say that there is approx 150 adults, perhaps nearer 200. _________________

I don't normally take any Rhacos to Hamm, just no point as everything I hatch is easily sold here.
We've just pulled out another 33 eggs tonight, so the season has deffinately started again. _________________

its not been proven in cresties at the moment ,
if it is possible the temperature scale needed
needs to be so precise no one has managed it .
i read a careguide book on cresties and there
was a small section saying that they believed
sexing was able to be determined from the
temp of incubated eggs. but i think they were
just generalising from what they knew from
other geckos
but i also log in to an american crestie site where
there has been no proof of it working . and some
of the posters have been breeding them since they
were introduced in 1994 .
i had 24 eggs last year and i would say a higher
proportion(9out of15) of them were male so
far . still have 9 or so to sex , so it might even
its self out .
this season im going to try cooler temps to see if it changes anything . _________________ Eyeless frogs welcome...
