My rats occasionally done that too when i first got them so i bought more cages and when they was pregnant moved them to there own cage, since doing that its never happened again. Maybe worth investing in a another cage before bumping them off.

cos at the time trying to get all the different sizes was a pain in the a##e and a was driving around trying to find them all, and mail order is all good and well if you are home to collect them!

rad is a working man Wink he doesnt have time Very Happy And i do as it is cheaper and much better for the reps in my opinion

i must be lucky then, as anything they dont have, which isnt much, they WILL get for me. the rats, all sizes are freshly killed to order.

maybe its disturbance which causes them to eat the babies. do you have the males and females separate to each other, when they are ready to give birth i mean.

tried it both ways

i think i might try and separate female before giving birth

i wouldnt wipe your boxes out just yet,let the weather improve and see if they are still doing it.my rats have just started to breed again after a crappy winter slowdown ad the few they did produce ove r the winer didnt seem to last very long Crying or Very sad but they was awesome last summer /autumn so ill give em another try now its warming up a bit
