I was just wondering what price true reds go for...
Someone has some for sale on another forum and assures me they are reds, £170, I am right in thinking true reds would go for a hell of a lot more??
The seller is posting pics soon so we I will have a mooch and compare to the pics posted on here....and see if its a bargain...
Cheers in advance

There was a discussion about true reds a while back. Be very carefull when buying reds. Alot of people think they have reds but they usually turn out to be reddy yellows. I have been looking for some quality reds for a few years now. I have seen them priced from £400 right up to £1000. I have finally come across a group of reds and will be asking a reasonable £200 for babies.
Not a great pic. |

Yeah I have seen posts about the reddy yellows....and that made me wonder. When I mentioned it the seller seemed a bit defensive, I was only enquiring like, so I'll just wait for the pics.
I mean I love yellows and I want to get a colony of those set up 1st really but I thought if they are reds I might grab me a bargain! Are there anyways of telling reds from yellows aside from colour as that seems to be pointless given the colour variation.
Yours look very cute Lee....and very reasonably priced....very tempting indeed...

Sorry Kate, Mine have not bred yet, so I have no babies available for at least 10 months. There is no mistaking a red. Yellows do have a red tinge to them but a proper red has a deep red colour and have a different head structure. Post some pics up if you get them. Must admit £170 for a red is very cheap. |

I'm still waiting on pics from the seller, but to be honest I may stick with what I have for now and work on getting another female yellow. My money would be better spent that way I think.
However if you may have some in 10-12 months, that gives me lots of time to get my yellows sorted and some bigger enclosures built..... Do you have any idea yet what you will be asking for a trio?
Cheers
