I think that he was probably going to sell the viv etc with the snake, hence the press getting the price of £400 in their daft heads. What made me chuckle was the bit about the snake only eating dead food and not wanting live food.... Rolling Eyes

the shop next to them in dunston were selling a trio of them for £300 so this guy is well and truely off the mark.
