Cleaned Out My Female Yemen Today, And Noticed A Long Thin Worm Wriggling About in the water at the bottom (collected from the dripper). The water was a slight yellow color, so she has obviously urinated in it. But no feaces. I've looked on the net of pictures of roundworm in chameleons, and they dont look as "see-through" as this "thing".
What do you think?
Still well alive. Im keeping it in a little tub. Incase need any more photos or incase examination at vets or what not. Just thought i'd pop on here to see if anybody has experienced anything like this.
Can roundworm (might not even be roundworm) pass through the urine tract? Or was there just no feaces to be passed, just this slight worm. Im puzzled, and slightly concerned. |

Now You Said That...
It Could of flushed out from the plant which the dripper was dripping into, inturn, running into the collector at the bottom.
I thought it was pretty large, as u can see in comparasent to the 2p. |

I've just googled images of baby/young/tiny earth worm. And they all seem to have a more bolder skin color. That seems to be more transparent. |

Hi there - having just had to deal with one of my cats getting roundworm - I would say its definately a small earthworm. The worms my cat sicked up were nearly see-through, much thinner and a bit longer than yours and were dead within a minute or so of being outside his stomach. It was really gross (and I felt like the worst owner in the world - forgotten to worm him a couple of months ago) If you look at your picture you can see what looks like dirt inside the worm's stomach - stick him in your garden and I'm sure he'll have a long and happy life! _________________ 0.0.3 Crested Geckos - Sid, Kurt & Titch

Others had said this too.
Pretty chuffed to be honest.
Was expecting huge vet bills for her.
Thanks, feel a bit embarassed, but hey.
Just a concerned owner :] |

I would take a fresh dropping to any local vet and ask them to screen it for parasites. This usually costs between £20 - £40. Better to be safe than sorry. |
