Theyre here
I have had to place them in a large exo terra viv temporarily whilst a new viv gets built and planted out. I know its not big enough for them but its only for a couple of weeks maximum. Then they will have either a 4ft or 5 ft high viv which will be 30 inches wide and 2 ft deep. Im planning which plants to use now and already have a few branches to use within.
I think this one is the male, he is slightly smaller than the female and his lower jaw is a little overgrown, but other than that he looks in pretty good shape.
The chunkier female, who has already been tucking into a locust.

WOW! Stunning geckos and great piccies. Their eyes are amazing! Good luck with them - are you building the viv yourself. My OH really wants to get a bigger viv for our cresties once they're fully grown - what conditions do they like - is the husbandry very different to Cresties? _________________ 0.0.3 Crested Geckos - Sid, Kurt & Titch

LMAO @ Paul - fancy helping advise me on plants that would take the weight of a 12 inch gecko?
Im looking forward to setting the viv up, I love doing stuff like that. I can keep them in our main living room too which doesnt get too warm.
Their set up and care is similar to cresties, although they do not require fruit and you can feed them much larger insects plus snails. The only book I have that advises on their care suggests a 5 ft high viv, with plenty of branches which are the thickness of a human arm. I will keep them with soil and leaf litter on the bottom of the viv, with live plants and a 2% UV light. But I will provide lots of opportunities for them to avoid the UV lighting. I will lightly dust their food every feed as suggested in this book unless advised otherwise by current experienced breeders in America. I will spray them two to three times daily to keep humidity levels high. I will be providing awarm area at the top of the viv which will produce temps between 26 - 30C, with the rest of the viv going down to 20-25C and slightly lower at night. Heating will be switched off at night.
Like cresties they are nocturnal, so will be fed and sprayed at night.
I have two friends who succesfully keep this species so I can call them any time with any queries. One difference between these and cresties is that you can house males together in a large enclosure with out fighting occurring. They can produce up to 5 clutches of eggs per breeding season according to my book. _________________ Cheers Angi
