Just interested to see peoples experiences with locks witnessed and the eventual laying off eggs.

Thanks

Not sure I entirely understand your question, I don't consider a female bred until I notice a lock, of those, 80% go on to produce eggs, females that are not in top condition to breed don't get to visit a male for that particular breeding season.

Sorry if i didn't make myself clear in my previous post,
I am asking, do you find if you witness multiple locks the female generally goes on to produce and lay eggs or do you find you can witness locks and the female not go on to produce. I am interested in what people have found from there own previous experiences.

Thanks

Yes, most locks do end up in producing eggs for me. It all boils down to each individual female, if she don't want to go, a lock will not change that...

Thanks for the reply, I was wondering if the female wasn't ready she simply wouldn't let the male copulate with her you see. All the girls i am breeding this year are big and healthy and i have witnessed a few locks for sure so am hopeful for some nice clutches Very Happy

thanks
