Congratulations BabygyalSW2, there is no need to remove the male. You may find they mate multiple times.
You might want to start thinking about providing a laying site for the female ( since you don't know if they have mated on an earlier occasion ) a small plastic tub, with a layer of moist vermiculite is ideal for this.
Also, you will need to think about building an incubator for when the eggs are laid. You can buy a 'ready made' incubator or you can build your own. To do this you will need a polystyrene box, your local pet / aquatics shop should be able to provide one for you - free or very cheap. You don't need a huge one!! On the base, in the inside of the box place a small heatmat, connect this to a thermostat. The sex of Leopard Geckos is determined by the incubation temperatures. Incubated at a temp of 80F and you would expect mostly females, 85F and you get a mix and at a temp of 88F you would expect mostly males. You will need a lunchbox type container to incubate the eggs in, again fill it with moist vermiculite to a depth of 3-4 centimeters. You will place the eggs directly onto this substrate, IN THE SAME POSITION THEY WERE LAID - DON'T TURN THEM. Raise the incubation box up off the floor of the poly box to allow for air movement and to prevent the eggs cooking. Phew, i think that covers the basics!!!! If i have missed anything guys, feel free to chip in. BabygyalSW2 anything else - just ask. _________________ Fraser Gilchrist
