Am wanting to get another two royals, to start off a collection. As there seem to be loads of different morphs out there, what are peoples opinions on the best ones to start with. I would prefer to keep it to under £1000 for the pair, and ideally want offspring (if i am so lucky) that would be sellable to fund more purchases. Im not doing this to make money, but it would be a bonus if i could!
Incidentally, i love the look of axanthics, but people dont seem to keep them much. Are they not popular? _________________ so many morphs, so little money

my favorite would have to be mojaves, i love the g stripe, and the super cinny too, normals are lovely, and if folk keep buying morphs and not normals they could get pretty rare!!! pieds are gorgeous, and i like SOME binos, axanthics are gorgeous, but i think some brown out as they grow, but i still like them, spiders are another favorite, and i love the HONEY bee. and am not really being of much help am i? my first royal was a mojave, so i will go with that. _________________

I believe Xanthics are very popular, just in short supply
£1000 a pair is probably putting you the the HET area, although you can get yellow bellies for that, just about, and a female is your really lucky enough to find one They produce Ivories. Get a female now and bring it up to size, and then when you are heading in the direction for breeding weight get your male, that way you'll have more money for a nice female, and can then add to the remainder of your funds to gt the morph male later on.
Hope that helps _________________ www.draco2.co.uk

Hi Alastair,
Axanthics are quite popular but aren't as nice as adults (they tend to brown out and to a lot of people almost look like normals ) The axanthic combo's on the other hand can look amazing
Nothing wrong with earning a little from the hobby you love And yep, just about everyone I know puts all their money straight back into buying more animals

You might be able to pick up 2.2 100% Het Albinos for around £1000. I would be cautious about buying just a pair of anything, if the worst were to happen and you loose one of them, all your best laid plans go out the window. Much better to edge on the side of caution.
Another 'offer' i seen not so long ago, was from Scott, 1.1 100% Het Albinos, 1.1 100% Het Piebalds & 1.1 100% Het Ghosts. All 6 for around £1500, fantastic combination potential at a great price. All you need to do now is find another £500!!!!!
Remember my commission Scott!!!!! _________________ Fraser Gilchrist

Axanthics are lovely animals and are well worth the money and time spent finding one!
I vote for buying a pair of het axanthics, they're well within your price range and you could produce an axanthic yourself with them _________________ 10.15 royals

Just a thought, but if you are getting babies - and at that price you will be - females take far longer to become mature than the males do. Why not look for a couple of females ? Next year you could have saved up enough to get a male. Females cost more than males - OF COURSE , but you should be able to get nice Pastels. Not sure what else within the price bracket. |

Best advise I can give you, get and work with morphs you enjoy above all, Axanthics are a great combo morph, people think of the immediate and most don't bother with subsequent projects, Axanthic Lavender, Axanthic Caramel, anyone see the Axanthic Pinstripe and the Axanhic Spider
You could get a male Axanthic and a Het female for 1,000
