I have just got a Hog/Hogg Island Boa. I currently have corns and I was wondering whether feeding the boa differs in any way to the corns?
I want to make sure her first feed goes well and it occurred to me that maybe she would be different? Basically for the corns I take them out of the viv into a tub and then put the mouse in. They are happy to feed in the tub in the living room with the light on.
What would you recommend I do with the boa? She is 2 months old and on small mice.
Thanks, just want to get opinions before she is due to feed with me for the first time.
Also her eyes have gone cloudy today, should I wait until after she has shed to try feeding her? _________________ 1.0.0 Carolina corn

just to make it less stressful on the snake let it shed first,
give it a day or 2 to settle in then try it,
my Indian's and pimbura and even an albino boa and several chondro's will all eat whilst coming into shed but they have had plenty of time to settle into a new environment. |

mine all eat too in shed, but they also have been with me a wee while and are completely settled. mines a common boa and likes to strike. in fact its the only way she will eat. iv tried just leaving it in with her, but she lies and gazes into its eyes till i lift it, then bamm its gone. i am hoping when she is fully grown she wont want to strike(please god)but i wont hold my breath. im sure it will eat fine for you.
i also just let her eat in her viv, but when im going to take her out, i have started to tap the top of her hide, she is learning when i tap its NOT feeding time, and doesnt fly for my hand. _________________

Thanks guys
Good advice Lynne, cheers.
I will leave her to shed before I try to feed her and I will feed her in the viv rather than taking her out, like I do with my corns. _________________ 1.0.0 Carolina corn
