I saw these advertised in my local rep shop though I never actually saw the animals (they were hiding). I reserved a couple but thought I'd better find out more about them before I took them home. I've never actually heard of them before but the chap in the shop reckons they are fairly easy to look after. Does anyone here keep them or know of any good care sheets?
thanks in advance! |

I keep them Lucky you for finding them, they seem to be hard to come by! There are a few caresheets, but I keep mine kinda like my cresties...well...exactly the same!! I have one adult which can take small size 2 crcikets, and some babys which take pinhead crickets. I have them in plastic faunariums, coco fibre on the floor mixed with some orchid bark. I add some moss too to keep in the humidity. Plenty branches and cork bark to hide behind, and some fake plants. I spray every night and keep them just at room temp, which in my house seems to be about 21/22. I offer them some fruit mixed with calcium but I am never sure if they eat it. I have seen them eating the crickets though. Mine have been laying eggs and they have been hatching, so I must be doing something right Get yourself a nice wee group of these guys and you should have an army soon!!

Great thanks for the advice Anna, I'll maybe attach one of my small heat mats to the back of their tank.
I was going to use an old tank I had for my boa which is 28"x12"x12". I know this is more a terrestrial tank but do folks think it will be ok?
I have reserved two animals but if they have many left when I go in I'll pick up three. I think it's amazing that they are an all female species that can lay fertile eggs. Looking forward to getting them now! |

Right I've cleaned the viv out, filled it with fresh coco fibre substrate and put a few live plants in there along with those fake plnts that stick to the walls and some cork bark tubes and pieces. Have stuck a small heat mat to the back of the tank and have ordered some 1st instar sized cricket. Do I need to do anything else? |

well here are the pair I got, they had obviously been breeding in the shop as their tank was filled with teeny tiny babies.
No one told me that they could be so vocal though, the little beggers have been sitting in the tank squeeking at each other. It's a bit cute I must say! |

Very nice geckos. Perhaps one day I'll get a couple. I was lucky enough to see one in the wild.
Its interesting how they are still really social, even though they have no direct need. They will even appear to mate, even though they're all females. |

I heard them both squeeking and chattering to each other last night it was very funny though I did wonder if I'd got a pair that don't like each other.
It's amazing how they can change colour so uickly as well.
Think these are a good addition given they were only £5.95 each. |
