By far i think flying s the cheapest way to go, there are some good bargains on easy jet etc, not sure about bed and breakfast though, and bringing back can be a problem though.

If you drive the Hamm expo centre is approximately 290 miles each way from calais so the average car would probally use about 90 quids worth of fuel for the euro side plus the run from home to Asford

Or the coach is 75 qud a seat retun from Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Cambridge or Ashford with plenty of room for whatever you buy

Might treat myself to the trip for my birthday present Very Happy
The coach would make life a lot easier, but I'm no where near the pick up points unfortunately Sad

Right, when you buy a reptile at Hamm,
Do you carry it round with you for the rest of the day?

Thanks

Bri, maybe we should consider organising a Welsh contingency at some point in the future? I don't like travelling much, and like coaches even less, but as a means to an end with someone else doing all the driving etc, and a decent coach with wide seats it could be good, I'm sure we could get a possy together Very Happy I know Paul and I would go, and I'm sure I could rustle up some extras, even if they don't have reptiles yet Wink Holland would also be good.

Would certainly be worth looking into. I'm certainly interested.

I'm hyperactive (so I'm reliably informed by she who must be obeyed !!) so don't like spending too long sitting down in one place, but needs must etc. If we could get a decent coach sorted similar to the ones Steve has on his site then it would be a lot more comfortable.

Having done the Eurotunnel trip back when I first brought chinchillas over from Belgium I have to say getting my mondeo on and off the train made me a little on the nervous side !! The thought of doing the same with a coach/mini bus doesn't bare thinking about !!!

How would you organise the pick ups Claire ? Along the M4 ? But that would only include South Wales, or do we want to keep the gogs out of this Embarassed Very Happy Shocked Rolling Eyes Could do A470 down to the M4 and then just head East. That way could do Bristol, Swindon etc as well.

Might be worth starting up a thread just to get an idea of numbers who might be interested for the next show after this one (would give the nice person drafted, sorry who volunteers, time to organise everything).

Are you trying to put me off the idea Bri Shocked I'm also claustrophobic as well as hyperactive, I'll just have to bring loads of books.

Might be an idea, but just as a preliminary fact finding mission. Could you work out routes, I get lost in my back garden, and I get the feeling I could well end up being the afformentioned drafted person, me and my big mouth Laughing

aaahh, but how do you deal with crowds ??? I don't like them one bit, they make me nervous. I tend to walk through people rather than round them (major character defect picked up while working night club doors in my youth) when I'm nervous Confused Shocked .

Now does that mean you volunteer ?????
As to routes, I've got TomTom with full European maps. But then the version I had on my old PDA had me trying to drive through a shop window while we were in Belgium !!!

No t well at all is the answer to that one, I'm almost agraphobic as well, I'll just take extra tablets Laughing I tend to want to run away from crowds.

I might Volunteer, I'm still thinking about it Very Happy Paul had and interesting idea this morning about flying over and booking a Dutch coach to come back, thus travelling less, but not sure how feasible that would be. We've got a TomTom now with the EU maps etc as well, bought it for Paul for Christmas, he reckoned there was a method in my madness Wink

Go on, Volunteer, you know you want to Very Happy Rolling Eyes Laughing

Some of the bigger coaches are very spacious and comfortable, and better than flying.

Eh, guess what ? I'm delivering chinchillas to Crumlin tomorrow !!!
