Hi all

This is my CB07 male red bar ambanja from Rick. Starting to confuse me a bit though because the bar looks blue to me?!?!

Thoughts anyone?

thanks

Give it time, that panther wont start colouring up for at least another 6 months.
Also just cause the male is red bar does not mean the babies will be. It is very difficult to tell what locale the females are unless you grow the entire clutch on. Could have been a red bar ambanja bred to a blue bar ambanja female. Again impossible to tell with the females.
Dont worry to much if he turns out to be a blue bar, looking at him in that pic he is going to be a stunner.

Thanks Lee. No, I'm not worried at all - they look great either way IMO. Sadly I lost my original female ambanja and her replacement so he'll be a confirmed bachelor unless I can source another female. I also have a pair of maroansetra's that are a month or two younger than this male so I guess they will be my first attempt at breeding panthers.

cheers

Stuart

Yep its a red bar, you can tell by the narrow red vertical bars being red. Any panther with either red or blue bar in the name refers to the narrow vertical banding colour, not the background primary colours.
