i have built a new viv 4ftx4ftx3ft can anybody help with heating and lighting it is for my red tail boas it is made from mdf .

Not and expert on snakes (or lizards at that lol) but I would suggest Heat Mat to cover 1 3rd of the the viv. I don't think they need any special lighting but I would use a 15inch 5.0 UVB light along with a basking spot light.

thanks i was thinking along the same lines but after visiting my local rep shop and being shown loads of different stuff i was a bit confused
