Heres our newest additions (had them about 6 weeks now), a true CAPTIVE BRED pair of Xenopelis unicolour, otherwise known as the Asian sunbeam snake. Thanks so much Karl Green, these are awesome snakes!

These are a primitive boid species, and are yet to be classified as either a boa or a python. The white ring around the neck completely disappears as they age, when they hatched the colour was snow white and you can already see its starting to fade. Theres no known reason why this happens.

First up is Oracle, the female. She's a sweetie pie.

Zhen, the feisty male in blue. They turn white in shed, but hes just cleared.

No, he wasn't trying to bite, these guys just feel the need to burrow or hide constantly!

Very beautiful! Good luck with these guys-I believe they're very difficult to keep successfully.

That's true to some extent. Thing is, 99% of this species in captivity is WC. Being fragile little burrowing snakes, usually hounded with worms and parasites its hard to adjust to captivity.

But the joy of now owning CB babies is amazing. They have pretty simple setups and are eating machines.

My Partner kept WC specimens for a few years, and they did OK. I would need to ask him again about all the complications though as I am sure there were many LOL
