I use mainloy Heatmats (on stats) and I have just moved my Boa into a viv and stuck with the same tried and tested method.
I think the biggest issue with Heatmats is that people fear the animal will come into direct contact with heatmat.
I simply place cork tiles (raised 10mm with little sticky feet) onto the heatmat, then place the substrate (in this case bark) on top of that.
As yet I haven't had any problems.
My other vivs use Microclimate AHS units which I favour over anything else. _________________ 31August2008-Kent Reptile Show (Amphibians & Inverts welcome) for more information & Booking e:mail: mrac@sky.com |
