Brilliant, I have two, about 8 years old. I use them as scavengers to clean up bits of food and waste from the other animals. I noticed that you're holding them in your hand, must be quite tame, mine will nip. On one occasion it took 20 minuets to get it off my finger.

The larger they get the more difficult it is to find shells. A problem they have in the wild, because of shell collectors. Sometimes they us tin cans.
I had one fall in the pond and nearly drown, it looked dead to me but I laid it on top of kitchen roll in the viv to see whether it would recover, next day I looked and it had not only gone from the kitchen roll but I couldn't find it in the viv. When I did find it, it had wrapped a leaf around itself instead of a shell. It was very small by the way, garden snail shell size.
