They have been eating but only when they have been basking.
THey are male and female.
they both have a little bit of skin left on them.
They have been fed crix locust mealies pinkies.
Are they just not as active because it is nearly winter?
Anyone else found this?

Hi, I found when my temps were up that high (basking) my Ridgetails got up to temp really quickly and would then be off doing things, only coming back to bask rarely because the ambient temps were also high and they could keep an active body temp easier. I reduced my basking to 40-45 c and now find they are back and forth more often,
Hope this helps?
Smile

Ok so no pneumonia then Shocked

You say they dont shed or have shedding problems, mine and most other types shed piece meal, my female is sheddin at the mo and looks a bit bedraggled for it, maybe they are having a problem shedding and instinctivly feel the need for a moister environment, give the area a good douse and see what happens Smile

Sounds like the are going through a slight hibernation stage. If they are housed next to a window then they will notice the daylight hours getting shorter, hence the inactivity. This will be a good time to start reducing photoperiod down to 10 hours. Temps MUST remain the same. Leave for 6 - 8 weeks slowly increase the photoperiod back to 14 - 16 hours and feed them large amounts of calcium rich food. Then wait for the mating.
If they are under 14 months old separate them and wait for next year until breeding. I have found egg binding a problem in young ackies.
Hope this helps.
