Hi guys, pictures finally going up! Well not exactly - just moved house and managed to leave all of my own pictures on my camera and other computer!! So these pictures are all borrowed from friends so no credit (or lack of ) can be taken by me for any of them - this is just to give a quick species review.
I was out staying on Buton Island for 8 weeks conducting some herpetological fieldwork, mainly focussing on terrestrial and substrate level herps in the rainforest. My study was looking at the effect of habitat disturbance on herpetological community composition, using several habitat variables. Anyway enough of that heres a genus list of animals caught/seen...(and I'm not even going to start on non-herps!!)
Sphenomorphus
Eutropis
Draco
Ahaetulla
Psammodynastes
Boiga
Python
Tropidolaemus
Ophiophagus
Rhamphotyphlops
Cyclotyphlops
Amphiesma
Lycodon
Xenopeltis
Rhapdophis
Rhacophorous
Bufo
Kaloula
Limnonectes
Varanus
Chrysopelea
Gekko
Hemidactylus
Cyrtodactylus
Dendrelaphis
Oligodon
Gonyosoma
Elaphe
Xenochrophis
Cylindrophis
Calamaria
Cuora
Limnonectes modestus
Chrysopelea paradisi
Rhacophorus georgii
Python reticulatus
Undescribed Draco sp.
Rhabdophis chrysargoides
Rhacophorus monticola
Boiga dendrophila gemmicincta
Boiga irregularis
Cylindrophis melanotus
Python reticulatus
Ahaetulla prasina
Eutropis grandis
Cuora amboinensis
Psammodynastes pulverulentus
Boiga dendrophila gemmicincta
Rhacophorus monticola
Longest post ever!! These are by no means all the photos, and if people want I could not only add some more herp related ones but also some landscape photos. Managed to visit Java, mainland Sulawesi, Buton Island, Hoga Island (in the Wakatobi Marine National Park) and Bali during my trip and managed to see some of the most stunning scenery ever!
Thanks for looking guys _________________ Regards James Stroud |
