Heres a little treat for the frog lovers here, very rare Mountain chicken (Leptodactylus fallax) from the zoo I work in, finally let me go in with them and take some pictures.
Removing picture in a few days for various reasons but its a lovely frog to see and they are beasts, this one is 30cm+

Apart from being a wild McNugget, the mountain chicken is a huge rare frog. Leptodactylus fallax comes from Montserrat and Dominica where it is readily eaten by locals instead of the avian variety of chicken lol. Most records of the frog reckon it reaches a SVL of 169mm but the ones I have coming will be at least 175mm. The hind legs on these guys are like big chicken wings so I might start a fast food chain.......I dunno KFF or something where the secret recipe is whats IN the finger lickin good skin. Lol, oooooh what about using giant toads! 'Eat and enjoy your trip' .................................. |

yeah they are stunning frogs cant believe how huge and beautiful they are..
reason I am taking it down is because I am not strictly allowed to "publish" pictures from where I work.. I think it means sale of pictures but I am unsure if it also extends to showing them in galleries etc.. just don't want to take any chances with upsetting the curators!
I have a few more pictures of them and will ask if I can put them up, as I think it would be great for people to see such amazing frogs. |
