Not realy. Plants need full spectrum light to grow and they are not going to get that in a viv unless you fit it. Yes they can raise humidity but if ventilation is good this would be negligable. A problem though could be that chemicals in the compost or even added by you could be harmful to the snake.
Another consideration is could the plants survive the activity of a fully grown snake? Generally this is a no except in the realy small species.
You could use air planst these would be fine as are fake plants. They mean nothing to the snake they are only there for us. _________________ 23/07/07 RIP Mousey a furry companion of 15 years. |

so that is a no? i was hoping that i would not have to go for fake plants, as they seem much more expenisive than fake ones.
cheers snowy _________________ Tom

The initial cost of fake plants can be expensive or cheap depending where you shop. I have gotten "silk" ivy, begonia leaves, holly strands, and plastic grass, trailer, and swags/vines of plants with flowers all for £1 each. All of these can be used in different ways it is upto you.
If you add the price of a unit to allow full spectrum lighting, the electric, the replacement bulbs/tubes this can make trying to keep live plants alive a lot more expensive and more work.
Fake plants are also easier to clean. _________________ 23/07/07 RIP Mousey a furry companion of 15 years. |

fake everytime for me. live ones couldnt take snakes crawling all over them, and would not survive long i dont think. weigh up the cost off having to replace live every so often, and fakes are just as cheap. |
