hi I'm quite interested in this but i cant find anything but pics can anyone share any info on this or any day geckos

They are great little beasties....I keep Phelsuma laticauda (Gold dust day gecko). They are faster than lighting and obviously diurnal (hence day gecko). The laticauda seem to like the glass a lot, but also spend time on bamboo which are a good decorative item for a viv. The viv can also be planted out, but I don't often find the geckos on leaves for some reason. I feed mine smooshed up fruit once a week (w/calcium and mineral powder). The rest of the time they will eat suitable sized insects. They need pretty hot basking spots (mine's at about 90)...and benefit from a it of humidity via spraying (drinking off leaves). This is my personal experience with their care, but plenty of people on here have kept them for years, so I'm sure they will provide a wealth of info! I can say they are very rewarding though, and beautiful animals too. I would like some more in the near future (maybe P.klemmeri)...

I have just brought back 1.1 P.klemmeri (neon day gecko) from hamm and have them in a planted viv with bamboo etc basking spot and uv, they need high calcium and are very tame and easy to handle when cleaning etc but they still are very delicate!

I keep and breed several different species of Day Geckos, including Phelsuma klemmeri.
In my opinion, previous experience of some of the easier / common species of Day Geckos should be gained before you try keeping Neon Day Geckos.

haplopelma minax - if you want to email me i can provide you with more information on keeping day geckos in captivity.

mcfluffin - i too have found that my geckos spend very little time actually on the plants themselves. They much rather stay on the bamboo and walls of the vivarium. The plants do provide cover and help keep the humidity in the vivarium at the desired level though. Very Happy

ukgeckos - the last time i tried to hold any of my day geckos i spent the next 3 hours or so trying to catch it again. The little bugger ran up my arm and jumped onto the wall!!!! Laughing

I agree, i kept gradis and standingii before these!
I may just be lucky with these as even when there warm there fine to handle!

ukgeckos - I have several Day Geckos that are bordering on being overly friendly!! They remind me of Dino on the opening sequences of the Flintstones!!!! Laughing
