Well, since everyone else has such beautiful animals - I'll show off mine too!

I decided these were cool when I started school (the Merus specifically - I still have the book I found them in) - about 5 years old. I didn't even realise you could keep them until I was about 20... So it became a bit of an ambition... I got there finally and fingers crossed for a long friendship with the species!

Here's the fella

Little miss was being very shy this morning though!
I'm very pleased with this girly - she has a beautiful full horn and other reasons in the next post!

It is a 64L Really Useful Box with about a million holes melted into it, stood on end and with Lucky Reptile fans fitted. It seems to work really well! The fans stop the air becoming stagnant - the 'in' one is at the bottom so the chameleon doesn't get a breeze.
I am going to put a perspex section in the lid for viewing, I've just been too lazy so far!

I played with lots of ideas for housing these and set this up a couple of months before the chams came home to see how it worked - so far so good!

Thanks guys!

Karen - I hope I'm as lucky with the pair too - the female was imported gravid, she's not been with my male yet...!
I decided to risk a WC one, and after some intensive 'settling in' I'm fairly happy that we're ok (obviously once they've been here a year I'll be happier that they're alright, but so far so good!) The babies were a bit of a hiccup - not good for de-stressing a WC adult! But her appetite is fantastic and she looks good and not underweight for it (she had 10 live, 1 stillborn).

They're well worth all the stress they've given me!
(including lying awake at night thinking of how I can help them settle in a bit better!)
