Recently bought a A.felinus pair.
Anyone else keeping/breeding this species? Would like to get in touch with other keepers.
Also picked up a S.williamsi
Also I was wondering if anyone here could ID this gecko species. Found it at Expo Syd in Sweden, never seen a gecko like that before. I was told it was some kind of ground gecko from Madagascar. The tail looked almost like a crocodiles tail, shape-wise.

I love the Cat geckos, there are some at my local shop and I was holding them this morning! Their tails are impressive. Any idea why they curl? Are they prehensile? _________________ A lil bit of Madagascar

Some nice gecko's you got there, especially the Strophurus.
That last gecko doesnt look like anything from Madagascar and doubt its a ground gecko with those feet, looks like a goniurosaurus to me. _________________ www.Reptilebreeder.co.uk

wethepeople: think their tails may be slightly pre-hensile, but mine often swing their tail slowly back, forth and sideways while they slowly move around the branches or on the ground.
When you see them sleeping, all tucked together with their tail wrapped around them, you clearly see why they're called "Cat gecko"
Jas Yeah, goniurosaurus was the first thing to pop into my head when I first saw them. Although they didn't quite look like any other gecko species I've seen before.
The white spots and "stripes" where kind of spiny and the tail, as i mentioned, was slender and almost in the shape as a crocodiles tail. Anywho, what ever species it is, it was a pretty cool gecko. But definitely not a Madagascan Ground gecko as the dealer called them. He told me the latin name, but when someone mumbles a name in latin with a dutch accent it's quite hard to remember
mccabec true true. Although they seem to have vision like the t-rex, and they usually have to launch themselves at the prey ten times before actually getting a hold of it. _________________ Aussie geckos and monitors |

the unidentified gecko is Paroedura masobe, it is indeed a ground gecko from Madagascar (and a very rare one at that). its a close relation of the big headed / panther gecko P.picta and care for the two species is similar.

the gecko in question is definitely not a member of the goniurosaurus family as if you look at the end of the toes you can see they are enlarged suggesting the presence of lamellae on the underside. having looked again I'm 99% certain it is P.masobe.
