|
|
I have always used small contico boxes for hatchling royals... can you tell me which of the 'Really Useful Boxes' size wise you use for your hatchlings? There seems to be a few sizes that would be suitable??
Small Contico =
Medium Contico =
Large Contico = 50L Really Useful Box??
I am assuming it's the 50L RUB that you use instead of a large contico?
Have you found any pitfalls or benefits? _________________ take nothing but pictures

The 50l Really Useful is a fair bit larger than a big Contico, and they're much sturdier. _________________

I have used really usefull in the past without any dramas.
But, I have heard of snakes getting stuck in the gap around the rim and suffercating, on 2 occasions. One was a young corn snake. The other person had a gravid garter snake do it, so a big girl. The guy with the garter is a friend so can vouch for it happening.
Walk into snakes n adders and he has a shop full of snakes in really usefull.....think its rare but has happend. _________________ royals

Large contico's are slightly smaller than 50L really usefuls..
internally Large contico's are 14" x 20"
internally 50L really usefuls are 14.5" x 24"
I've got both - 9 litre really usefuls and 4 litre really usefuls, i'd say you'd be best off with a 4 litre.. height is wasted on royal's, and that's the only difference between them... they have the same floor space. Makro sells loads of these
Small contico's are possibly similar in size to 4 & 9 litre RFUB. 12" x 7" internally
4 litre really useful tub is 8.5" x 13.5"
internally medium contico's are 9.8" x 14.5"
18 litre tubs are almost square. I have got them but never used them. |

Just been to get one of the 50l really usefull's for my sons female Royal as she was looking a bit cramped in her large contico.Must admit they are well made and as mentioned a fair bit larger than large conticos. _________________
