I got my first corn hatchling on saturday, and feel he has probably had enough time to settle in and thought we would try a handling session tonight. Every time I open his viv he goes straight into his hide. Should I give him more time, or just lift his hide and handle him anyway?

I would just get him out for maybe a few minutes and see how he reacts.

Thanks.
I just don't want to panic him, but figured we needed to start sometime. Smile

my first corn i left her a week, and never saw her. no one beleived there was anything in the tub!!!! so i went and found her buried under her water bowl and took her out. the next was handled from day one, and the next and all the rest. a few minutes every day is fine just now and gets them used to you. some snakes such as royals do need time to settle, but corns are fine with being gently handled.

Thanks very much to both of you Smile
I took him out for only a few minutes, he was alright, but kept stretching himself back towards the viv. Will give him another short session tonight as Thursday is feeding night so he will be left again till the weekend.
coming from a reptile shop I don't suppose he has had much handling up till now.
