Aidan if you are going for a dslr then yes nearly all the lenses are over £100..for example one I got today was nearly £800 inc delivery..dont be put off though there are plenty of budget lenses out there to be had and having a dslr means you can get the lenses that cater for your individual style..There are also some superb compacts out there..fuji,minolta and sony sell some awesome cameras at very good prices..All these cameras are capable of fantastic quality..

i think i go for a rubbish Kodak 1 lol till i get a job then i may get a Nikon
as then i will be able to afford the lens lol and a good camera
