Hi everyone.

As some of you know i have an approximately 6 month old beardie. He will be moving to his new 4 foot viv in a couple of weeks.

I just wanted some advice about getting him a friend. I have been told by a petshop that keeping 2 together is a bad idea and they will fight, especially if both are males. We dont know what sex our bd is, and have been told to wait until he is a year old to have him checked.

Is it cruel to keep one on its own, or do they generally live longer/happier with two. The last thing i want is to get another one, introduce and then have to separate because they dont get on.

What do you guys think?

cheers, tony Confused

i went through the same thing a few years ago now when i just bought my female to go with my male , the best advise i can offer is that when you buy your beardies friend Smile make sure that she / he is the same size or a little bigger not to much bigger , and also when you have bought your beardies friend , take your beardie out of his viv ( the one you already own ) and then clean it out and change the lay out of the viv to it was before, then but both of then beardies back in together , doing this make the viv new territory to both beardies and less chance of them fighting , hope this helps it did for mine and now they have been living together for the last 4 yrs or so Smile good luck

Hi there, thanks for your advice reptile resort. I have been doing some diggin around and decided to keep him on his own. He gets loads of attention from us, so i think he will be fine. Plus he will have a 4 foot viv all to himself. Smile
