hi all,
i just arrived in the UK about 5 hours ago and arrived home 1 hour ago.
it was the best holiday ever!!!!!!!1
we went for 15 days, the first 8 days we were on safari, then the remainder we stayed at a hotel in diani on the coast.
during the safari we went to 4 national parks they were: amboseli, masai mara, lake nakuru, and tsavo east. we also went to lake navaisha but that is not a park.
saw loads of mammals and birds, such as elephants, impala, thomsons gazelle, mongoose, serval, lion, buffalo etc. etc.
at the hotels we stayed at we saw quite alot of reptiles as well, we did notsee any whilst in the parks, but there were lots in and around the grounds of the hotels and lodges. saw a total of about 10 lizard species, 2 snakes species, and 3 frog species (heard alot more frogs).
the lizards we saw were:
- yellow headed dwarf gecko (really pretty)
- white headed dwarf gecko (really pretty)
- rough scaled plated lizard
- tropical house gecko
- flat headed gecko
- mwaza rock agama (males are beautiful
- other female agamas of unknown species, but not same as above.
- striped skink
- speckeld lipped skink (really pretty)
- nile monitor
- coastal rag
snakes were:
- spotted bush snake
- peters thread snake
frogs were:
- various unidentified reed frog specis
- common squeaker
- dwarf bullfrog
i shall post up some pics soon.
i would highly recommend it to anyone _________________ Tom
