I'm new to the forum and to bearded dragons, so first off hi to everyone.

Right the question,

I have had a baby BD for about 3 weeks now and i think he's about 3-4 months old. I have him in a 24"x15"x15" tank with the basking temp at 35-37*c and the cold side about 28-30*c. It has a 10.0uv tube and a place to hide if he wants to.

When I got him I was told to feed him small crickets and fresh fruit and veg, I'm also using exo-terra dried juvenile pellets.
He started eating a few crickets but not all that many and has never touched his greens or pellets. After speaking to someone I was told that to get him to eat some of his veg, i had to remove the crickets until he started eating the veg.

I have removed the crickets for 3days now and he still isn't eating any of his veg and I am beginning to worry that he will start to starve and will stunt his growth.

Please could someone tell me how I get him to eat the veg or pellets so as to be able to get his vitamins. I dust the crickets with calcium powder twice a week when feeding them but I'm not sure that's enough to keep him going.

Also does anyone know why he runs away from the crickets sometimes, they are not to big for him, there about the same size as the distance between his eyes, come as size 4.

Damo hi and welcome to the forum
Have you tried smaller crix if he is running from them they may be stressing him, also try mixing some small mealies in his salad, they will move about and make it more interesting for him.
I wouldnt take away his crix babies often take a while to eat their salad, just make sure his basking temps are optimum and i am sure he will be fine. Others will come along and help too i am sure

yes do not take away his crickets and try them smaller and dust them with calcium about 3 or 4 times a week and 1 or 2 a week with vit powder.
beardies don't really eat much veg if any till they are a bit older but all ways put them in the Viv just in case.
and i don't no what temp that is but i would say 100- to 107 Fahrenheit
