my lobster Roach's have finally had babies lots of them when i was away. i come back to find about 200 babies and about another 200 babies stuck to the tape holding the heat mat down. so if anyone is starting to breed roaches don't tape your heat mat down they get under the tape some how.
i have about 100 adult roaches and 200 babies, does anyone no how long this will take to get established before i can start feed 3 beardies and 2 Yemen's _________________

I think it's round about 3 months you should wait to get your colony established. _________________

Why did you have a heatmat inside? Surely it makes sense to have the mat underneath?

I dont think it would make much difference to breeding time assuming you are breeding them in a plastic box / container?
Maybe Rick can confirm?

My lobster colony is on top of my beardie tank (the hot end) and they are breeding fine. I would think you might be best putting the heat mat underneath or on the back on the outside of the tank Aidan - you won't lose anymore roaches then either.
Lots of egg cartons, food (wheat bran and veg mine get), supply of water and a bit of heat and they will breed. |

Yeah pretty much, you could crush up a couple. Although you can buy bags of wheat bran. |
