My lace monitors have finally started to hatch. The first one has stuck its head out, anyway. 243 days (coincidentally, the first perentie pipped
at 242 days)
Here's a short video of the perenties and the lace monitor hatchling emerging as of an hour or two ago.

Great photo and videos. Its amazing that these take almost as long to develop as a calf does! _________________ Interested in amphibians? Join us at Myamphibia for friendly banter, amazing pictures and great information. Make some amphibious friends today! |

Another two have pipped yesterday and today, so 10 more lace monitors (13 in total) and 14 more perenties (17 in total). There were two clutches of each, so it should be happening sporadically over the next two months or so. |
