I have been thinking of adding a species of monitor lizard to my reptile collection for a good 18 months now as at the moent I only have my Spotted pythons, assortment of Carpet pythons and the Carpondros.

I nearly bought some Kimberley Rock Monitors Scott was selling about 2.5 years ago, but decided against the idea at the time.

In reality, I'd like a monitor that gets around 2 foot in size as at the moment I don't have the room to house anything much bigger.

Any advice or help greatly appreciated. Smile

It's a difficult choice to make alongside finding a pair or a trio for sale. Confused

Both are great monitors, I prefer the look of the kimberlys though.

Also, Kimberlys will be hard to buy as sexed pairs with normally only excess males being sold off but ackies are often available as sexed adults.

With the ackies just be careful of anyone offering Red Ackies, there were only a very small number imported (by me) but in the last few months it seems like suddenly everyone has some Confused

Thanks for the heads up Scott Smile

I thnk in the end I will get probably choose the Ackies as they seem to more abundent in supply and a little cheaper than the Glaeuteri at £700 a pair. Sad

How many color phases are there of the Ackie? Normal, red and Yellow?

Also Although the red's are nice I prefer the yellow ackies myself, maybe that's why I have 7 JCPs Embarassed Laughing
