|
|
Ok, so I've got 4 leopard gecko eggs cooking in the incubator, hopefully will hatch around next month There are a couple of local places (reptile shops & garden centres) that are local to me and I was just wondering if these places would buy the babies off me and what would be a good asking price? How old should they be ideally, before they are sold?
The mum is a blizzard and the dad is normal, so they could be either!
Any help would be great. |

To be honest, the babies will be Normal Het. Blizzard. Most probably, local garden centres and pet shops wont know what this means so will just give you the price for a normal, about £15 max. You could always try Classifieds on the internet, Friday-Ad or aposter in your local Pet Shop asking for slightly more (£20-£25)
Hope that helps,

hi if the father is just plain normal with no het blizzard the hatchlings would be normal 100% het blizzard.
not sure how much you could sell them for but you might want to try and sell them online as you will be able to sell them for a better price than a pet shop as they will try and buy them off you for under trade price and the most you will probably get for them would be £20-25
hope this helps

Normal looking babies no matter what they are het for would be worth about £10-12 to a shop. You could maybe get up to £15 if you ask for credit instead of cash. _________________ People laugh at me because I am different

leopard geckos are currently on the reptile wholesale lists at about £17 so most pet shops wont pay anything more than that as most dont care what they are het for.
(its not that they dont know what it means its just that non of the buyers are likely to know so if they are shopping around and see that 1 pet shop is £5 more than another then they will buy the cheaper ones) _________________

Thanks guys! That's really helpful. I wasn't sure how all the genetics work, that's something I'd like to learn more about.
Normal-looking babies then! Whoo! Can't wait 'til they hatch now |
