We are due to be getting a new housemate this coming term, an american vet student. While her dog is covered by PETS, im not sure about her snake. I hear that an export and import permit must be obtained-how does one go about applying for these and has anyone here done it?

Sam, no export or import permit is required unless she is living in the Cali kings home range, then I believe she may need an export permit.

There are no other restrictions on cali kings and no quaranteen, so it can be shipped and collected from the frieght agent the same day. You will need a freight clearing agent to do the paperwork though.

Right..she lives in California so she may need an export permit? Its good to hear that it doesnt sound as complex as we thought it would be. Do you have any names for freight clearing agents, or are these more likely to be local as opposed to large names like a lot of teh courier companies?

We had to use Manchester airport to import some corn snakes, I believe Glasgow no longer accept cold blooded animals.
